Helsingfors Helsinki Harbour Ships and City 19th Century

This design features a line drawing print of Helsinki Harbor (Helsingfors) in the early 1800's with tall masted sailing ships in the harbour. The print, in the designer's possession, probably dates from before 1830 as the building in the centre in the background is not the present Helsinki Cathedral (Helsingin tuomiokirkko ). The building shown may be the Church of Ulrika Eleonora which previously stood on the site of the Cathedral.

The Waldrapp Ibis, also known as the Northern Bald ibis, with black feathers, a long pink curved beak, red hued face and a bald forehead with a dash of feathers, is critically endangered. There are only about 250 of these birds in the wild, their natural habitats being the cliffs and coastlines of Morocco, Turkey and Syria.

Radiation Geiger Counter Effect on Your iPad Speck Case From Zazzle

With radiation and nuclear reactors a hot topic in the news this Zazzle Speck Case with a geiger counter effect offers a geeky solution to allaying unfounded fears of exposure to radioactivity. Just set the indicator on the microsievert and millirem scale to a safe level, order your iPad and relax.

 * Zazzle Award Winner - The Best of Zazzle 4.1.2011 *

Radioactivity And Radiation Detector On Your iPad Case

The design features a radiation dosimeter dial with a scale in the range 1 - 100 microSieverts per hour (and the corresponding 1 - 10 milliREM dosage) as measures of radiation absorbed by the body, and a color scale from green to red representing the extent of exposure hazard. Over the dial is a blue indicator that gives a reading from the scale.

The case has a red brushed metal look and feel with simulated rivets along the sides, and a radiation sticker and red button below the radiation counter. All the elements that comprise the design are customizable and easy to remove or move around or replace. You may add your own text and images using the Customize It button (Click on an image above to go to the product page for customization and personalization options).

What is really cool is that the blue indicator can be set anywhere along the scale from safe and green to living dangerously in the red. Move the indicator to your preferred setting before ordering.

Please note that this Speck case design is a simulation; it does not measure radioactivity nor does it emit radiation. It's available on both iPhone and iPad Speck hard cases.
